Clyde Edwards-Helaire

CEH had straight-up lost his job prior to landing on the IR with a high-ankle sprain on November 23rd. However, with Week 16 against the Seahawks being the earliest he could return, fans should remain hopeful for a full recovery. The odds were stacked against Clyde as a first-round pick in 2020 with how volatile the running back position is in this league, but regardless of the team’s intentions with him following next year—likely waiving his fifth-year option—he is an asset off the bench.

Isiah Pacheco runs like a damn horse and looks like the future of this backfield, and while Jerick McKinnon has plenty of juice left in him, CEH has been great as a pass catcher so far in 2022. He has accrued 17 catches for 151 yards and three touchdowns through the air to this point—adding three more scores on the ground—and his absence, whether we like to admit it or not, has been notable. He is another versatile weapon in the red zone and truly rounds out the offense.

Andy Reid seems to be warming up the tires on the tight ends of the future—Jody Fortson and Noah Gray—with the way that he has deployed them near the goal line, but his greatest strength remains in the way he disguises his players in the red zone. Clyde has played a big role in scoring efficiency this season, and a return from him in Week 16 should be highly anticipated as the Chiefs head into the playoffs.
