Let’s look at the lists of inactive players for the visiting Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos in Week 14.
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming into Denver this week for their first of two scheduled meetings this season against the Broncos with some curious choices to make in terms of player availability. There are some talented players who might be ready to come back to the field of play after missing time for one reason or another due to injury. Yet given the disparity between these AFC West rivals, is it smart for K.C. to have them play, or should they rest for one more week?
This is an important question for Kansas City because they are in the stretch run and every decision should be viewed through the ultimate lens of reaching a Super Bowl. The Broncos are one of the least successful teams in the NFL this season and should present no real threat to K.C. in either upcoming game. Surely that means it’s a good time to play it safe and give some rest to players who were marginal to suit up anyway, right?
This is an important question for the likes of left guard Joe Thuney, who has already missed two games with an ankle injury. The Chiefs already decided what to do with wide receiver Kadarius Toney, who has also missed a couple of games with a hamstring injury, and decided to call him out before the game.
Here’s a complete list of Chiefs players who are inactive in Week 13:
