It’s Chiefs vs Bengals in Week 13. A rematch of the 2021 AFC championship game. Fanduel Sportsbook is calling for a shootout, and we are expecting the same.

The Kansas City Chiefs are returning to Cincinnati for a rematch with the reigning AFC champion Bengals in Week 13. The frustrating second-half collapses of last year’s Week 17 and  AFC championship games against Cincy led to the Chiefs—and Chiefs Kingdom—circling this game on the calendar in May. The lingering heartache of losing in the fashion in which K.C. did at the end of last season burned deep for many, and there’s no doubt about that fire coming to the surface on Sunday.

Chiefs vs Bengals Week 13 odds

Fanduel Sportsbook has the Chiefs listed as -2.5 point favorites and set the points total at 52.5. Given the injuries that the Bengals have wrestled with, and the consistency that the Chiefs’ offense has displayed, the line seems fair. Even when considering the most recent history between these teams.

There is a strong case to be made in favor of this Kansas City team being the best that we’ve seen in the Andy Reid era, and the Chiefs are facing the weakest strength of schedule for the remainder of the year. One could argue that this week’s bout with the Bengals is the lone remaining challenge on the board, and it feels safe to assume that hype will be met.

Ja’Marr Chase is expected to return to the field after missing the Bengals’ past four games, and Joe Mixon was back in practice Wednesday following a week-long stint in the NFL’s concussion protocol. The Bengals will be back to near full strength and will pose the biggest challenge for the Chiefs’ defense since they played the Bills in Week 6.

Chiefs vs Bengals prediction Week 13

Whatever storylines are circulating in regards to revenge or redemption for the Chiefs this week seem futile in comparison to the simple strength of these two star-studded rosters. The Bengals and Chiefs are on their way to building a rivalry every bit as fierce as the ones they have with the Bills and Chargers. Sunday’s game will be the one that elevates this storyline to the same heights as the rest, but this time, in favor of Kansas City.

Prediction: Chiefs 31, Bengals 28
