NFL picks, Week 12: KC Chiefs predicted to dominate Rams
By Matt Conner
The Kansas City Chiefs are widely expected to dominate the visiting L.A. Rams when the two teams meet at Arrowhead in Week 12.
Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs will only get one chance to see them play at home at Arrowhead Stadium in a long five-game stretch that takes them from mid-November to Christmas Eve. The good news for Chiefs Kingdom is that their scheduled tilt against the visiting Los Angeles Rams is expected to be a very one-sided affair.
Will the Chiefs dominate the Rams as expected? That’s what NFL experts are predicting this week as they unveil their picks for Week 12 on the regular-season schedule. While some games should be down to the wire, the Rams’ visit to Kansas City isn’t expected to be one of them.
Kyle Koster, a friend of ours from The Big Lead, says it best when looking at this matchup when he writes, “This is an utterly comical line and yet it somehow feels low.” He’s right. The Rams are down to unproven quarterbacks trying to keep things close on the road against Patrick Mahomes. He says to take the Chiefs even against the spread.
The entire panel at Athlon Sports is going with the Chiefs in Week 12, and the same can be said of the panel of experts at Bleacher Report, save for a single individual, Wes O’Donnell, who decided to be the contrarian and go with the Rams.
Over at the Sporting News, Vinnie Iyer has no qualms about such a crazy spread and believes the Chiefs will crush that line of -14.5 with a 20+ point victory over the Rams. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports agrees with Iyer and has the Chiefs winning by 24 points.
If this seems one-sided, it is, but there are always exceptions, and this week you can find multiple doubters about the Chiefs on the panel for the Detroit News. Both Justin Rogers and Bob Wojnowski have the Rams in this one.
