The Kansas City Chiefs had another game flexed into a late night primetime affair coming up in Week 11 against the Chargers.

The folks at NBC have to love their numbers when Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are involved, which is why the team’s upcoming game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11 has been flexed into a primetime slot.

According to Adam Schefter, the Chiefs vs. Chargers, which is a road game at Los Angeles for K.C. and the second meeting between the teams on the year, has been moved from a late afternoon slot on Sunday, November 20 to the Sunday Night Football slot instead.

The Week 11 matchup between the Chiefs and Chargers is likely the most important game left in the AFC West calendar, which raises the interest level to another level. However, this game didn’t need much help in that area given that the quarterbacks involved are two of the best in the league in Mahomes and Justin Herbert.

The Chiefs put away the Chargers in a close game earlier this year in Week 2 in a close 27-24 win at Arrowhead Stadium. Herbert suffered a rib injury in that game that has affected him ever since in a frustrating year for the Chargers that could slip away if they don’t keep pace with the Chiefs until their matchup in Week 11.

As for the West, it’s amazing that this division can even be decided by then considering that the Chiefs haven’t even faced the Denver Broncos yet and have another game against the Raiders remaining. Both teams have endured frustrating seasons shortly after going all-in this offseason with blockbuster trades and major free agent signings.

The new kickoff time for the Chiefs and Chargers in Week 11 will be 7:20 p.m. C.T.
