Titans vs. KC Chiefs inactives: Ryan Tannehill out for Week 9

Let’s look at the lists of inactive players for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans heading into their Week 9 primetime game.

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming out of their bye in Week 8 which means that most of the roster is likely going to feel better than it has in weeks. Lingering injuries to players like safety Bryan Cook, wide receiver Mecole Hardman, cornerback Trent McDuffie and others should have them ready to go in Week 9 as the Tennessee Titans visit after having a full week to rest and recover for the season’s second half.

That said there are some players who won’t be able to suit up for Kansas City even after a week away from the NFL and tight end Jody Fortson is one of them. The Chiefs have already declared Fortson out for Week 9 which means the team’s red zone options will be a bit more limited as he works his way back from a quad injury.

No one should feel bad for the Chiefs offense, however, as Kadarius Toney will make his debut for the Chiefs after arriving from the New York Giants in a pre-deadline trade. Toney should provide a spark on offense and special teams as a returner, and it’s not as if the Chiefs’ offense has had any issues scoring points even after dealing away Tyreek Hill this offseason.

As for the Titans, they made it clear they would be without safety Amani Hooker and fullback Tory Carter in Week 9 before the game by declaring them out.
