The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their bye to host the Tennessee Titans on Sunday Night Football in a battle of 5-2 teams.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans are preparing to battle at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 9 and both teams are looking for a big win over a major conference opponent with hopes of making waves in the postseason. At 5-2, it feels like a legitimate clash of contenders, but underneath the hood of that overall record, these teams look very different.

The Titans are not without talent. They wouldn’t be 5-2 and leading the AFC South without it. Derrick Henry leads a run game that’s about as dangerous as one can be in today’s NFL. The team’s pass rush is fearsome and they are very well-coached with Mike Vrabel calling the shot.

That said, the Chiefs have far more talent, the much better quarterback, and are coming off of a bye week. They’ve also proven themselves against much stronger opponents than the Titans who play in the AFC South. It also doesn’t help that Titans starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill is missing practice this week due to an ankle injury that kept him out in Week 8.

How will all of this go down? Matt Verderame is here from Arrowhead Addict with his full preview of Week 9 and the Chiefs-Titans game scheduled for Sunday Night Football.
