Here’s all the information you need to catch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans in Week 9.

The Kansas City Chiefs feel like a team ready for the second half of its season. Coming out of the bye, the team has traded for some additional help, will see some injured players returning, and in general, should be well-rested and ready for the road ahead knowing how head coach Andy Reid tends to perform when given an extra week off.

The first team up for the Chiefs in this back nine, so to speak, is a visiting team that has owned them in recent years. While the Tennessee Titans aren’t considered peers of the Chiefs, it would be unwise to ignore the fact that Tennessee has beaten the Chiefs five of the last six times they’ve played. Even in four meetings with Patrick Mahomes as the quarterback, the Titans have left with three victories—very, very few teams can make that sort of claim.

As for the Titans, they have the same record as the Chiefs at 5-2 and could be playing with a chip on their shoulder as the contender that no one thinks will contend. They’re the best of a bad bunch in the AFC South, so it’s hard to tell just how serious they can be, but a look at this series history should be all Kansas City needs for Sunday Night Football.

If the Chiefs want to flip the script and start off well, they might want to wash out the taste of a 27-3 loss just last year at this time to the Titans as they try to maintain their momentum.

Titans vs. Chiefs Predictions

The Chiefs were heavy favorites once the week opened at 10.5 points, and the only thing really working for Tennessee at this point is the recent series history. Mike Vrabel always has his team well-prepared, and the Titans have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball. That said, if Tennessee falls behind, this game is over quickly because there’s no way they can compete with the Chiefs’ offensive firepower. The Chiefs should come out of this one with a pretty lopsided win, but crazier things have happened before against the Titans. Chiefs 30, Titans 22.

What is the weather for Titans vs. Chiefs?

The weather for Sunday night at Arrowhead Stadium should be perfect for the viewing experience—especially if you’re fortunate enough to catch it live. A clear, crisp fall night with temperatures in the low ’50s is ideal this time of year.

Titans vs. Chiefs history

We’ve already mentioned this a few times, but Titans fans should love this section most of all considering that they won last season by a 9x multiple of the Chiefs’ final score. It represented the low point of last year for K.C., who went on to host the AFC Championship for a fourth consecutive season. Other than a postseason victory during the team’s Super Bowl run in 2019, the Chiefs have not beaten Tennessee since Andy Reid’s first year in Kansas City. That said, the Chiefs are 30-25 overall and lead the series history.
