Week 16: vs Seattle Seahawks (12:00, FOX)

Geno Smith has been one of the most pleasant surprises across the league in 2022. He’s been borderline elite through the first two months of the season but there’s a decent chance that he’ll turn into a pumpkin before Christmas. Seattle’s defense has been really bad this season, although it has gotten better over the past couple of weeks with the help of their young talent. Even though the Seahawks are well-coached and getting solid quarterback play, the Chiefs should not lose this game when they are in contention for a top-two seed in the AFC playoff standings.

Result: Chiefs WIN 33-24 and improve to 11-4.

Week 17: vs Denver Broncos (12:00, CBS)

Similar to the points made a couple of games ago, if the Broncos aren’t checked out by then, they likely will be by the time Week 17 rolls around. If the Chiefs lose this game, and there aren’t any injury problems, they should be extremely concerned heading into the playoffs.

Result: Chiefs WIN 24-14 and improve to 12-4.

Week 18: at Las Vegas Raiders (TBD)

How this game goes will depend upon how the standings look heading into Week 18. If Kansas City has the #1 seed (or any other playoff seed set in stone), they will 100% play their starters. The Chiefs will not lose to the Fighting Derek Carrs if they have a playoff seed on the line

Result: Chiefs WIN 30-20 and finish the regular season 13-4.

Summary

In conclusion, the Kansas City Chiefs will likely finish with anywhere between 12 and 14 wins this regular season, and possibly even 15 if everything goes right. If they want to earn the top seed in the AFC, they will likely have to finish 14-3 and that may not even be good enough, based on how Buffalo has been playing. 13-4 very likely is not going to cut it for the #1 seed but it should be satisfactory to be the #2 seed in the conference come playoff time.
