The Kansas City Chiefs made a trade on Thursday, sending two draft picks to the New York Giants for Kadarius Toney.

As the Kansas City Chiefs entered into this week’s bye, there was already a lot to process about the team—mostly in a very good way—given their 5-2 record through the toughest part of the schedule and a chance to rest up with key injuries at this stage. In other words, the latest episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast was already going to be good—and then the Chiefs traded for Kadarius Toney.

Shortly before we went to air this episode, featuring Matt Verderame and Patrick Allen as hosts, the Chiefs pulled the trigger on a very interesting trade that sent both a third-round compensatory pick and a sixth-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft to the New York Giants in exchange for Toney, a former first-round pick in 2021 who reminds some of Tyreek Hill.

If you want to find out why the Chiefs would make this trade, why the Giants would do the same, and what this means going forward, you’re in the right place. Sometimes the timing is magical like that. Stay tuned for the latest episode breaking down the Toney deal and other Chiefs-related news.
