Odell Beckham Jr., Wide Receiver

Odell Beckham Jr. is a huge name at the wide receiver position but is still in the process of recovering from a torn ACL suffered in last year’s Super Bowl.

The Chiefs’ passing game has been really good this year, but mostly due to Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce, and not their wide receivers. Their wide receiver group has been a little underwhelming this season as they have yet to produce a single 100-yard game in 2022. Signing Beckham can add a little more juice to the room and also give them a player who, in the past, has demonstrated that he can separate from defensive backs.

Kansas City doesn’t need a superstar receiver but they do need someone who can at least create separation from most defensive backs. They also need someone, other than Travis Kelce, who can force defensive coordinators to play more conservative zone coverages in hopes of opening up stuff for Kelce and the other wide receivers.

Odell Beckham Jr. might not be ready to play today, or even within the next month, but he could be good to go later in the season. He has the chance to do for the Chiefs what he did for the Rams last season and that is to be the missing piece on offense for a successful Super Bowl run. If the Chiefs are interested in making a low-risk, high-reward signing for this season, Beckham would be the one.
