KC Chiefs lose safety Justin Reid to injury

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost Justin Reid to injury during the team’s game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Kansas City Chiefs were already hurting with numerous injuries in the secondary, but it looks as their talent and depth will be tested further with an injury to safety Justin Reid. Reid was forced to leave to the sidelines early in the game during the Buffalo Bills’ first offensive drive of the game in their Week 6 matchup.
Reid left the game with a right leg injury in the first quarter. Hopefully Reid can return soon.
The Chiefs signed Reid this offseason as the new cornerstone signing in the wake of a complete rebuild of the secondary. The Chiefs allowed Tyrann Mathieu to walk after three seasons with the team and even other safeties like Daniel Sorensen and Armani Watts signed elsewhere. Reid signed a lucrative three year deal to come over from the Houston Texans and form a new tandem with Juan Thornhill.
The Chiefs are also missing their second round pick, Bryan Cook, a safety out of Cincinnati who was drafted to be a long-term asset there in the secondary to grow behind the aforementioned starters. The Chiefs also play a ton of three-safety looks, so they’re now limited in what they can do. Deon Bush, another veteran free agent signed in the spring, will be forced into greater playing time with Reid on the sidelines.
