Center Creed Humphrey

Fans know that center Creed Humphrey shouldn’t be on this list. It’s not because he is underperforming. No, it is because he should have made his first Pro Bowl in 2021. Alas, the league’s best center last year did not appear on the Pro Bowl rosters. That should certainly change this year.

Humphrey is still anchoring the Chiefs’ offensive line, which has one of the league’s best interiors. Sure, left guard Joe Thuney and right guard Trey Smith are no slouches, but Humphrey is historically great. He has not allowed a sack this year, after allowing three in his rookie year. PFF has Humphery as the league’s best run-blocking center (84.6) and the fourth-best pass-blocking center (79.7).

Humphrey appeared on the 2021 PFWA All-Rookie Team alongside Bolton. But, after finishing his rookie year so dominantly, Humphrey should have been in last year’s Pro Bowl. He even won the coveted fan vote, leading all AFC centers with 128,608 votes. But, Humphrey was still snubbed and had to settle for being a Pro Bowl alternate.

He has not regressed. He is only getting better and remains the most consistent blocker on the Chiefs’ offensive line. If Humphrey does not make the Pro Bowl this year, what more does he need to do?
