Here’s the time and other important information for the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs game in Week 5.
Think what you will about the potential of these two teams, but the truth is that diehard fans have learned long ago that you have to throw out expectations when it comes to games between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders. No matter what city the Raiders occupy at the time, both franchises are always extra motivated to play well against their AFC West rivals, which is why no one should be overlooking Derek Carr and company this time around.
Yes, it’s true the Chiefs have owned the division for six straight seasons and a lot of that success is due to their dominance over the Raiders in that span of time—even stretching further back to when Andy Reid first arrived in K.C. back in 2013 and helped set the Chiefs on a new course for sustained success. That said, even Reid has taken his surprising lumps from the Raiders from time to time.
Last season, the Chiefs pulverized the Raiders in both matchups by a combined score of 89-23. However, the year before, the Raiders split the season series and nearly upset the Chiefs both times. Given the Raiders moves this offseason for Davante Adams, Chandler Jones, and others, it looked like they might be more trouble again in 2022 but that remains to be seen.
These divisional games are often dogfights, but we’ll see what Josh McDaniels is capable of for the first time on Monday Night Football.
