Let’s look at the lists of inactive players for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the visiting Las Vegas Raiders for Week 5.

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing to host the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium in primetime as the NFL closes the books on Week 5 as Monday Night Football is now just around the corner. As the lists of players who are active or inactive are released, it will be interesting to see how healthy some players are feeling who have missed practice in the past week.

The Chiefs know they are without their kicker Harrison Butker already coming into the game and he’s the only player officially listed as out for Week 5. That means Matthew Wright will once again handle the kicking responsibilities while the team hopes that Butker can finally return to his duties against Buffalo next week.

Beyond Butker, other names to watch before the game will be defensive end Mike Danna, who is dealing with a calf injury; wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has issues with his quad and hamstring; and right guard Trey Smith, who has been nursing more than one injury so far this season. All three were questionable coming into Monday night, although Smith-Schuster is reportedly set to play.

For the Raiders, the only player listed as out is inside linebacker Jayon Brown, a major leap forward for a team that has dealt with significant injuries in recent weeks. Brown is sitting with a hamstring injury and was already declared out. However, the Raiders should be heartened by the rest of the report.

Maybe it was the extra day’s rest before a Monday game or perhaps it’s the rivalry that has players motivated to feel better, but either way, there’s no denying Las Vegas has a lot more talent at its disposal in Week 5. Pro Bowl wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is back from the team’s concussion protocol, as is Pro Bowl linebacker Denzel Perryman, both of whom missed the team’s Week 4 win over the Denver Broncos.

Here are the inactive players for the Chiefs:

  • Harrison Butker, K
  • Shane Buechele, QB
  • Ronald Jones, RB
  • Benton Whitley, DL
  • Joshua Kaindoh, DL
  • Trey Smith, OL
