Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. Arrowhead Stadium will be packed and rocking as KC’s hated division rival comes to town. The Chiefs enter the game 3-1 and are coming off a dominant performance against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meanwhile, the Raiders finally got a win last week against the struggling Denver Broncos and are now sitting at 1-3. I’ve dug into the numbers surrounding this matchup and I’m here to tell you that there is every reason to believe that the Chiefs should dominate this game.

Before anyone yells at me for “jinxing the team” or taking things for granted, let me clarify that the Indianapolis game definitely showed that no game is a sure thing. If the Chiefs could lose to that team, anything is possible. However, given that they had a letdown game just a couple of weeks ago, I can’t imagine we’ll see that happen again tonight, especially against a rival team in primetime. So if the Chiefs don’t come out tonight and beat themselves they should absolutely take care of business in this game and I’ve got the numbers to back that up.

So here are five good reasons you should have faith in a Chiefs victory tonight.

1. Andy Reid Owns The Raiders

I think this one is well-known amongst Chiefs fans, but we still have to start here. In Andy Reid‘s nine previous seasons in KC, he has gone 15-3 against the Raiders. That’s an incredible winning percentage against a single opponent and it’s not a small sample size either. Reid has won eight of the last nine matchups and is also 8-1 in Arrowhead against the Raiders during his tenure in KC.

The Raiders have had some talent over the years, but they have a history of being sloppy and undisciplined. Andy Reid is one of the NFL’s best at having a plan of attack to dismantle his opponent and his track record shows that he’s been very successful at doing that to the Raiders and giving his team a clear advantage in the coaching department. I don’t think any more needs to be said on this point, so let’s move on to reason number two.
