This feels like a game in which someone behind Travis Kelce could enjoy a solid day on the field and on the stat sheet.

The Buccaneers have given up healthy stats to opposing tight ends this season, albeit in a short sample size, and none of those players can come close to matching the incredible skills of Travis Kelce. But even beyond the nice days enjoyed by the likes of Robert Tonyan of the Green Bay Packers and Dalton Schultz of the Dallas Cowboys, backup tight ends have caught some key targets.

The Chiefs are particularly suited to face defenses for which the likes of Noah Gray and Jody Fortson can create mismatches. If the Chiefs find nice openings for their tight ends is what Todd Bowles’ defense is willing to give them, then we might see either Fortson and/or Gray come up with a meaningful catch or two—perhaps even in the end zone.
