Chiefs injury report: Mike Danna declared out for Week 4

The Kansas City Chiefs have released their final injury report of the week with official designations for Week 4 against the Buccaneers.
The Kansas City Chiefs have released their final injury report for Week 4, and the official game designations are out for the upcoming road contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The only player who is officially listed as out is defensive end Mike Danna, who continues to sit out practice with a calf injury.
The jury is still out on a number of players beyond Danna, however. Kicker Harrison Butker, wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and defensive end Joshua Kaindoh are all questionable.
Butker returned to practice this week in limited fashion and the team has said all week that he’s going to be a game-time decision for trainers as he continues to work his way back from an ankle injury suffered during the first quarter of the first game of the season—a win over the Arizona Cardinals. The team has signed kicker Matthew Wright as a replacement in case he’s not good to go.
For Valdes-Scantling, he’s dealt with an abdomen injury this week that has kept him from practicing and he was even trending downward as he was able to participate on a limited basis in practice on Wednesday before sitting out entirely on Thursday. He’s likely to also be a game-time decision. Mecole Hardman looks like he will be okay to play, but his heel injury plus the abdomen concern for MVS could make things problematic at wide receiver for the Chiefs.
As for Danna, it hurts the Chiefs depth chart to be without him and potentially Kaindoh. The Chiefs still have a solid trio in Carlos Dunlap, Frank Clark, and George Karlaftis, but Danna is a big part of the rotation and looked very good early on this year.
The Chiefs and Buccaneers are set to kick off at 7:25 p.m. C.T. on Sunday, October 2.
