Travis Kelce responds to Colts loss on his podcast
By Greg Morse
Travis Kelce and his brother Jason discussed the Chiefs’ loss to the Colts on this week’s episode of their podcast. Here’s what Travis said.
The Kansas City Chiefs blew probably their easiest win all season on Sunday to the Indianapolis Colts. There was plenty of finger-pointing to go around, from special teams to Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones to Travis Kelce and back to special teams (they deserve to be mentioned twice).
It was a frustrating day for Chiefs fans. And it was also a frustrating day for the players themselves. Several players, including Kelce, took responsibility for the roles they played in the loss.
Check out Kelce’s own tweet here:
But Kelce’s true feelings came out during this week’s episode of his podcast that he does with his brother, Jason. We’ll let you hear it for yourself. Warning: NSFW.
Hopefully, this clip made you laugh as much as it made me laugh. The loss was a tough pill to swallow, and as poster Zack Eisen said, Kelce really is “all of us” at the end of the day. If you weren’t cussing at the end of the game, or even now just thinking about it—well, kudos to you.
The truth is, Kelce is probably the least responsible for the loss of anybody, but he did drop a fairly easy catch that would’ve given the team a touchdown, and he knows that. Jason’s brotherly jab was just pouring salt into the wounds.
Hopefully, Kelce channels this frustration into the game this week against the Buccaneers. Folks in the replies to that tweet rightly pointed out that the duel frustration of the loss to the Colts, plus the Super Bowl loss to the Bucs a few years ago, could manifest themselves into a big game for Kelce.
At the very least he’s looking to redeem himself after dropping the would-be touchdown catch on Sunday. As a Chiefs fan and a Travis Kelce fantasy owner, here’s to hoping he just absolutely rocks the Buccaneers. Then Chiefs Kingdom can collectively cheer, rather than cuss.
