Chiefs vs. Colts: Mike Danna among inactive players

Let’s look at the lists of inactive players for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Indianapolis Colts heading into their Week 3 showdown.

As the Kansas City Chiefs get ready to take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium as the visitors against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3, both teams will be without several players who are ailing due to injuries. While some of those have already been placed on the appropriate lists, others are taking up precious roster spots in the hopes that they can return sooner than later.

That’s the reason why someone like defensive end Mike Danna for the Chiefs is on the active roster for now. The team has already declared him out for Week 3, but the hope is that his calf injury can heal quickly enough to allow him to contribute again sooner than later—perhaps even in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Also out for the Chiefs is kicker Harrison Butker, who injured his ankle in Week 1.

For the Colts, they have also stated that linebacker Shaquille Leonard will be out for the game against the Chiefs, making it his third straight week on the sidelines. It’s a major blow to the team’s defensive capabilities, but the long-term goal is to see Leonard return to full strength. Also out and inactive for the Colts is rookie offensive tackle Bernhard Raimann.
