Extended rest could help these Kansas City Chiefs players

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes could certainly use 10 days of rest, both mentally and physically. He entered the Week 2 matchup already banged up, and the Chargers pass rush did not make his life easy.
Mahomes suffered a left wrist injury against the Arizona Cardinals, early in the game. Mahomes played off the injury as minor, and more of a discomfort than a threatening injury.
"“I fell on it on that first touchdown, I kind of threw my hand back and fell on it,” Mahomes said. “But I just got it looked at, and everything looked good. Hopefully, it’s not something that lingers around, something that we can kind of get cleared up quickly.”"
Mahomes went on to throw four more touchdowns against the Cardinals, so the wrist injury was not hampering him too much. But, his left hand remained heavily taped against the Chargers and could not help his in-game movement at all. The Chargers also roughed up Mahomes on Thursday, sacking him once and knocking him down three times. He did not look 100% at times, but that happens during a rough, heavyweight battle.
Mahomes could use some days off to allow his minor injuries to fully heal before they get worse. There should not be any concerns about his Week 3 status, but Mahomes needs to let his body and mind rest before the NFL schedule ramps up.
