Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos took on the Houston Texans in Week 2 and honestly I thought this was going to be the game where the Broncos really found their groove. I get that Week 1 is wonky simply because teams are still kind of in preseason mode. This, however, was supposed to be the coming out party for Russell Wilson where he showed Denver fans in Denver what he was all about. Instead, you had the crowd counting down the play clock because they couldn’t get plays called in time. Embarrassing…

Look, we have all seen our share of poor clock management, but come on! That’s horrible. Even if Nathanial Hackett is a first year head coach, there is no excuse for not getting the plays called. Other than that, this game was a snooze fest. Neither team really can claim they won because they both looked pretty bad. I suppose technically the Broncos won, but I wouldn’t go running through the streets proclaiming anything.

One bright spot was Courtland Sutton:

The Broncos can also thank their lucky stars that Jerry Jeudy and Patrick Surtain are both day-to-day after leaving the game with injuries.

Next week, the Broncos take on the 49ers who just lost Trey Lance to a season-ending ankle injury. Jimmy G is stepping in and will have something to prove. This will be a tough one for the Broncos. I think they lose.
