Chargers vs. Chiefs: Inactive players for Week 2
By Matt Conner
Let’s take a look at the inactive players for both sides of the Thursday Night Football opener between the KC Chiefs and the L.A. Chargers.
It feels silly to say that a regular season game could mean so much so early, but the National Football League knew what it was doing when scheduling the Los Angeles Chargers‘ annual visit to the Kansas City Chiefs for the primetime opener for their new deal with Amazon Prime. The deal meant that a new broadcast partner would quickly fall in love with the results of paying the NFL so much money knowing the windfall that comes with pitting Justin Herbert on the road at Arrowhead Stadium against Patrick Mahomes.
Both the Chargers’ and the Chiefs’ rosters are loaded with Pro Bowl talent on both sides of the ball. They’re also led by quarterbacks who would easily dominate any conversation for best young quarterback in the game. Both teams come into Thursday’s game with a 1-0 record, and given that every other member of the AFC West already lost in Week 1, the winner of this Week 2 battle will have an early and important lead in a tough division.
Unfortunately, both teams are dealing with some limitations that could make the difference in a showdown like this. The Chiefs will be without the steady leg of Harrison Butker. They also just put first-round cornerback Trent McDuffie on injured reserve. The Chargers have declared their top wide receiver Keenan Allen out for the game along with tight end Donald Parham. Both will be on the Chargers’ list of inactive players.
Here’s a list of Chargers inactives:
- WR Keenan Allen
