KC Chiefs 2022 rookie class report: Week 1
Skyy Moore, Wide Receiver (Round 2, Pick 54)
Skyy Moore did not see a lot of playing time on offense but he did make the most of his opportunity. He was only on the field for 13 snaps on offense, six of which were running plays, but recorded one reception for 30 yards on a single target. On his one catch, 15 of the 30 yards were after the catch.
Despite only playing 13 offensive snaps, Skyy Moore earned an elite PFF offensive grade ($) of 91.6, including a 90.6 receiving grade. He also returned one kickoff for 23 yards and four punts for a total of 41 yards, with a long of 15.
It was expected going into the regular season that Moore would not see much action early but his performance on Sunday should convince the Chiefs to consider increasing his snaps and targets.
Isiah Pacheco, Running Back (Round 7, Pick 251)
No player on the entire Kansas City Chiefs roster saw his stock rise throughout training camp more than Isiah Pacheco. Despite some theorizing that he could be the starting back for the team, he only saw 16 snaps on offense, 12 of which were in garbage time. He carried the ball 12 times for 62 yards and a touchdown but also fumbled (which he recovered) on the Chiefs’ final drive of the game.
Pacheco’s NFL debut wasn’t a memorable one but it wasn’t a forgetful one either. He saw a lot of snaps in a meaningless part of the game but he showed enough promise to justify making the active roster after camp as a late-round draft pick.
Bryan Cook, Safety (Round 2, Pick 62)
One of the rookies that fell under the radar since the draft was safety Bryan Cook. He had a very solid preseason but was pretty pedestrian in his debut. He saw just over 20 snaps, the majority of which were in garbage time, allowing two catches on two targets for 12 yards and an opposing passer rating of 91.7. Per PFF ($), he lined up at free safety most of the time, but also saw limited action in the box and the slot. He also recorded a tackle and missed a tackle as well.
Bryan Cook did not have the flashiest game but he got the job done when asked and should improve as the season goes on.
