“Can Burrow and the Bengals bury the Chiefs for the third time in two years?”

I want this to be the headline so bad. It might not be, but I want it that way.

The Chiefs have enough of a chip on their shoulder coming into this game for reasons that I should not have to explain. Not only were they robbed of a win in Cincinnati during week 17 last season, but the Chiefs also had the most inexplicable offensive meltdown in the Andy Reid era in the second half of the AFC Championship game against the Bengals. Joe Burrow and company proceeded to celebrate their Super Bowl berth on the field at Arrowhead Stadium and the several months were some of the most miserable for Chiefs fans in the last 5 years.

Joe Burrow is a media darling. Ja’Marr Chase is the next coming of Randy Moss. The Bengals completely retooled their offensive line in the off-season. Everything is pointing toward the national media, the talking heads, the pontificators on Twitter leaning towards another Bengals W in this late-season matchup.

That’s exactly how you should want it. Who thrives off of disrespect more than Patrick Mahomes? Do you think he’s been playing golf with or texting Joe Burrow this off-season? Maybe, but I doubt it. This is a grudge match to end all grudge matches for the Chiefs, and specifically Mahomes. There are a ton of young QBs vying for the belt that Pat has had possession of his entire career with Burrow being the only one to take significant strides to actually take it away.

Let the disrespect reign in this one.
