Former Kansas City Chief Demarcus Robinson had a solid third preseason game and an impressive catch with his new team the Baltimore Ravens.

Remember Demarcus Robinson? Maybe you don’t want to remember him, but for several years he was a solid receiving option for the Kansas City Chiefs—when he wasn’t trying to run backward.

The Chiefs let Robinsongo this past offseason, and he was quickly scooped up by the division rival Raiders. (‘Good!’ I can hear most of Chiefs kingdom saying right now.) But that didn’t last long, as he was released by Las Vegas just a few weeks ago. However, he was quietly signed by the Baltimore Ravens just last week, and he played in their third preseason game on Saturday.

Most Chiefs fans might not want to admit that Robinson showed potential, but this route on Saturday showed that he can have his moments on the football field. Of course, it should be noted that Robinson wasn’t playing with the first-stringers, and wasn’t playing against them either.

I would also like to point out, that for all the jokes about him not running backward in this play, he did dramatically slow down and start the high step a little too early, almost allowing the Commanders to catch him. The route may have been “filthy” but I selfishly had hoped he would trip or get tackled just feet from the end zone.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Robinson sticks with the Ravens going into final cuts. It’s not a good look that the Raiders didn’t think he was worth keeping, but maybe Baltimore is in need of some depth. If the veteran wide receiver was able to help our Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, I’m sure he’ll be able to find a spot as a relief wideout or even low-end WR2 for Lamar Jackson.

However Chiefs fans may feel about D-Rob, he apparently still has Mahomes’ support who was happy to see his former teammate succeed.
