Greg Van Roten, Guard, Buffalo Bills

On paper, the Bills are stacked across the board. While Greg Van Roten is not elite at this point in his career, he would make a lot of sense as a functional depth piece in Kansas City. Van Roten could make for a nice reserve player if the Chiefs prefer his skillset over either Nick Allegretti or rookie Darian Kinnard.

Greg Van Roten is a player on the bubble in Buffalo, but could certainly end up keeping his job. If he is cut, it seems likely that he would be scooped up pretty quickly.

Ja’Wuan James, Tackle, Baltimore Ravens

Ja’Wuan James has had a less-than-storybook career to this point. When healthy, James has not only looked functional, he has looked very good. The problem is that he has not been fully healthy for the better part of his career. After a one-year stint with the Broncos after spending his first five seasons in Miami, James is now entering his second year with the Baltimore Ravens. Did he play last season? Nope. You guessed it, he spent it on the IR.

Now, the Ravens have a decision to make. Do they gamble that James can stay healthy or do they opt for monster rookie Daniel Faalele to be their swing tackle? It’s a possibility that both players make the final roster. If James is cut, however, the Chiefs could use a bonified swing tackle, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Lucas Niang and Geron Christian.

Hjalte Froholdt, Guard, Cleveland Browns

Again, Brett Veach seems to love young guys that deserve a second chance. After a season in New England and a season in Cleveland, Hjalte Froholdt could be onto his third squad. With a deep offensive line unit, Froholdt could be on his way out.

With tremendous power in his first step, he would make for a great depth piece in Kansas City. He is a fit for what offensive line coach Andy Heck likes in a lineman. Further, he is a plug-and-play rotational piece with comparable skills to that of Trey Smith. If Froholdt hits the open market, he would make for a great fit in Kansas City.
