Anthony Hitchens works out for New Orleans Saints

Former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Anthony Hitchens is working out to hopefully earn a look from the New Orleans Saints.
The New Orleans Saints are looking to fill a void in the linebacker ranks and former Kansas City Chiefs veteran Anthony Hitchens is among the list of players hoping to find a home for the coming season.
According to ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler, Hitchens will work out for the Saints along with Kiko Alonso and Jon Bostic.
Hitchens was released by the Chiefs back in February after four full seasons with the team from 2018-2021. Waiving Hitchens was the first major move of this offseason by general manager Brett Veach in an attempt to turn around a defense that was aging. Other free agent departures of Tyrann Mathieu, Dan Sorensen, and Melvin Ingram robbed the Chiefs of many years of experience with the hope of getting faster and more physical with younger replacements.
The Chiefs first signed Hitchens to a five-year deal in one of Veach’s first free agent signings, and he steadily grew into a team leader and communicator in the heart of Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. He finished last season with 80 tackles, four of them for a loss, and 2 passes deflected in 15 starts for the Chiefs.
Hitchens has played a total of eight seasons with four years each with the Dallas Cowboys and Chiefs.
