Given the present state of things at the tackle position for the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s not all that surprising to see them make a move to bolster the depth chart, which they have with the signing of free agent offensive tackle Evan Ksiezarczyk on Monday.

The team didn’t make the announcement or signing official yet, but Ksiezarczyk’s representatives broke the news via Twitter to start the week.

The Kansas City Chiefs have added some depth at offensive tackle with the signing of Evan Ksiezarczyk.

Ksiezarczyk is a 6’6″, 310 lb. tackle option who will give the Chiefs another body to look at in the thick of training camp, which can’t hurt given the attrition that often happens throughout a regular season. Ksiezarczyk was a long-time starter for the University of Buffalo on the left side of the offensive line, a player who started three full seasons for the Bulls from 2017-2019. Since then, he came into the league as an undrafted free agent and spent his first season with the Atlanta Falcons. Since then, the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Football Team, and Buffalo Bills have also given him opportunities to compete for a role.

As for the Chiefs’ state of things at left tackle, Ksiezarczyk is an option far down the depth chart at this point but he’s in camp which gives him a chance to impress someone who matters. the Chiefs aren’t sure if Orlando Brown Jr. will report to training camp on time or not later this week, but they’ve already put Lucas Niang and Prince Tega Wanogho on the Physically Unable to Play list.

Fortunately, the Chiefs drafted Darian Kinnard out of the University of Kentucky and signed Geron Christian as a free agent this offseason. With Andrew Wylie also in the fold, the Chiefs at least have some options while waiting on these players to return.
