9. Cincinnati Bengals: Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State (Original Pick: John Ross, WR, Washington)

Perhaps the biggest bust of the entire 2017 NFL Draft. John Ross was picked this high primarily due to his 4.22 40-yard dash. In his best year with the Bengals, 2018, he recorded seven touchdowns but only had 210 receiving yards to go with them.

Chris Godwin has been a great player for the Bucs. He’s recorded three straight 1,000-yard seasons and 30 career-receiving touchdowns. If the Bengals wanted a receiver to go with A.J. Green, they should have gone with Godwin.

10. Buffalo Bills: Dion Dawkins, OT, Dawkins (Original Pick (By Kansas City): Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech)

The Kansas City Chiefs will not be on the clock here for this re-draft as draft-night trades are factored out of the equation, so the Buffalo Bills retain this selection. They end up selecting a player they took 53 picks later in reality. We won’t talk much about Mahomes but Dawkins was a STEAL for Buffalo. If you asked Brandon Beane if they would be comfortable taking Dawkins at 10th overall in a re-draft, I believe that he would say yes. Dawkins might not be a HOFer but he’s absolutely one of the ten best-left tackles in the NFL and has been a consistent protector of the blind side since the day he became a Buffalo Bill.

11. New Orleans Saints: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State (Original Pick: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State)

This pick does not change. Marshon Lattimore has had an up-and-down career for the Saints but there’s little doubt that he’s worth the pick at 11. He was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2017 and has made four Pro Bowls. Still only 26 years old, he should still have most of his prime left ahead of him in New Orleans.

12. Cleveland Brown: Marcus Williams, S, Utah (Original Pick (By Houston): Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson)

The Texans traded up for this pick to select quarterback Deshaun Watson from Clemson and the results have been mixed. On one hand, Watson was at one time an elite player for the Texans but has not played since 2020 due to a stand-off with the Texans and numerous sexual assault allegations.

Marcus Williams, best known for his unfortunate role in the “Minneapolis Miracle“, was actually an elite player for the Saints during his five years with the team. He is a strong player both in the passing and running game and has since gone on to sign with the Baltimore Ravens.
