Joe Thuney, Creed Humphrey, and Trey Smith, Interior Offensive Linemen

Is it cheating to put three different players in the same section? Probably but it makes more sense to do so. In my opinion, the Chiefs have the best interior offensive line in the entire NFL. Joe Thuney had a career season, Creed Humphrey was arguably the best center in football last season, and Trey Smith was solid as a sixth-round rookie. The fact that neither Thuney nor Humphrey got named to the Pro Bowl was shocking, to say the least.

Joe Thuney has been a fantastic guard in the NFL for around a half-decade, the fact that he has yet to be named to a single Pro Bowl in his career is puzzling, though he was named a second-team all-pro in 2019. It is even more puzzling how, in my humble opinion, Creed Humphrey was the best center in the NFL last season and didn’t even get one of the two center spots on the AFC’s Pro Bowl roster. Though I do not believe that Trey Smith played at a Pro Bowl level last season, I do believe that he has sky-high potential and it would not surprise me if became one of the most well-rounded guards in the entire NFL.

Assuming there isn’t a decline in the level of play from any of the three players, there is a good chance that one of the three interior linemen are named to the NFL’s All-Star exhibition for the first time. Unless the Chiefs are busy preparing for Super Bowl LVII, it would be a complete surprise if the entire Chiefs’ IOL is snubbed from this season’s Pro Bowl again.
