Can Justyn Ross overcome his injuries?

If there’s any single question that’s the most pressing among the lot facing the receivers room in Kansas City, this is the biggest one of all. That’s not to say that Justyn Ross should loom that large, but fan expectations have been blown up nonetheless and everyone in Chiefs Kingdom is dying to know whether or not Ross can stay healthy and make this team.

There are good reasons, rooted in reality, why Chiefs Kingdom is overjoyed at his arrival on the roster, even as a rookie free agent. There are, however, also good reasons, also rooted in reality, why 32 teams passed over him on seven or more occasions in the recent 2022 NFL Draft. In short, Ross is talented with a recent body of work that rivals most college wideouts. It’s also true that his injuries have scared off most teams and/or lowered that once-exciting ceiling.

How much of the buzz is warranted around Ross? It’s hard to say, but it shouldn’t be lost on the doubters that Ross already has his most popular teammates shaking their heads at his abilities. Unfortunately, he’s missed both days at mandatory minicamp so far, a bad sign for a player who needs as many reps as he can get in this new offense.
