Five free agents who could bolster the KC Chiefs defensive line

Larry Ogunjobi – Defensive Tackle

I went back and forth on who to put at number two on this list between Suh and Larry Ogunjobi. I think Suh fits their need for a more physical presence in the interior, but I think Ogunjobi has the higher upside and is much younger than Suh. Ogunjobi is 28 years old and had 7 sacks as a defensive tackle with the Cincinnati Bengals last season. He had a deal in place to sign with the Chicago Bears at the start of free agency, but he failed his physical after his season ended last year with a foot injury.

If the Chiefs feel that the foot will eventually be 100%, they could sign him now and wait for him to get back to full health. With a limited amount of proven outside pass rush on the roster adding another strong interior rusher to pair with Chris Jones could be a real headache for opposing interior offensive lines. Plus, having Jones on the roster would allow them to give Ogunjobi as much time as he needs to heal up without rushing. At just 28 years old, K.C. could even consider a two or three-year deal if they are confident he will return to full health.

The Chiefs are known to have a first-rate medical/training staff so if they will sign off on Ogunjobi, I would be confident in the signing. However, there is one other player that I would absolutely put over anyone else on this list.
