Week 6: vs Bills (3:25)
The first meeting between the Bills and Chiefs since The Perfect Game and you can bet your bottom dollar that the fireworks will be back. The Bills bested the Chiefs at home in Week 5 last year, but Kansas City is looking to bounce back in a big way after back-to-back losses. This will be a classic Mahomesian effort and his will to win will be on display. The beefed-up defensive front seven will contain Josh Allen and bring a new element to this growing rivalry.
Overcoming the Bills here will catapult the Chiefs. 4-2 through six weeks.
Week 7: at 49ers (3:25)
The Super Bowl 54 rematch will feature the same winner. The focal points to consider in regards to the 49ers in 2022 are whether or not this will be the year that Trey Lance takes the torch from Jimmy Garoppolo and what kind of a role Deebo Samuel will fill after his request to be removed from his self-proclaimed position of “wide-back.” In any instance, while San Fran was possibly the toughest and most physical team in the NFC last season, the Chiefs’ new offense will be so high octane at this point in the season that it will blow right by the Niners.
Kansas City heads into its bye week at 5-2.
Week 8: BYE
Week 9 (SNF): vs Titans (7:20)
Andy Reid doesn’t lose coming off of bye weeks, and while this one will be a physical bout, that trend will continue. Nick Bolton single-handedly bottled up Derrick Henry in 2021, and the supporting cast around the likely new Mike has bolstered this offseason. The Titans shipped A.J. Brown to the Eagles to move up in the first round and select Treylon Burks. That kid has some awesome upside, but he’s not Brown. Trent McDuffie and L’Jarius Sneed lock him up all night, and the Chiefs manage the Titans’ rushing attack and dominate time of possession.
6-2 through nine weeks and feeling good.
Week 10: vs Jaguars (12:00)
The Chiefs advance to 7-2 through ten weeks.
