KC Chiefs schedule: Previewing primetime games for 2022
By Matt Conner
Week 4, Chiefs @ Buccaneers – Sunday Night Football
If you didn’t think that this game would be given the primetime treatment, then we’re not sure what to say. Of all games on the NFL’s schedule this year, the matchup between the game’s two most popular quarterbacks is going to be the most anticipated of all—likely more than anything involving either Super Bowl participant from last winter.
Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are always must-watch television as it is, but when they play each other, you can expect a 60-minute offensive chess match.
For both teams, this will be an important non-conference game that could separate the AFC West pack a bit knowing each team has to face Brady & Co. That said, the Chiefs have to take this one on the road and it comes early in the season when they’re likely still going to be leaning on young players to learn their roles. In short, the timing and placement aren’t that great.
But maybe there will be some added motivation here. Remember this is a chance for a bit of revenge from the Chiefs’ loss to the Bucs in Super Bowl LV. Nothing will remove that sting completely, but an early-season road win over Brady would provide a serious boost of confidence for a fairly green roster.
