Another year has gone by which means it’s another year in which Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are among the most popular players in NFL merchandising.

it’s not quite a tale as old as time, but it’s definitely a familiar story around these parts. (Don’t) stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are, once again, on the list of best-selling players for the last calendar year in terms of total merchandise sales.

The National Football League’s Players Association just released their final sales lists for the calendar year stretching from March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022 and Mahomes and Kelce have both come in right around where they typically do, with Mahomes at/near the top and Kelce sitting within the top 20 overall players in the league.

This year, Tom Brady took over the top position from Mahomes and the two typically jostle for the single most popular player in the NFL in terms of merch sales, depending on the quarter, and the Buccaneers QB comes out on top here. Mahomes came in among the top sellers in a number of merch categories as well—from Fathead decals to player figurines and player jerseys to Funko Pop vinyl collectibles.

Kelce was the second-highest ranked tight end on the list behind George Kittle who placed in the top 10 at No. 7. Kelce landed at No. 19. Kittle is also the first and only non-QB in the top 11, with Pittsburgh Steelers pass rusher T.J. Watt as the next player to interrupt QB domination at No. 12.

No other Chiefs made the list, nor did any player who used to be with KC recently—a la Tyreek Hill, now with the Miami Dolphins, or Tyrann Mathieu, now with the New Orleans Saints.
