On the episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast, we discuss the draft mastery of KC Chiefs general manager Brett Veach.

It’s taken a long road to get here, but Brett Veach has become a helluva draft expert.

Of course, anyone with an ounce of intelligence will tape the brakes at this point and declare that it’s silly to grade a draft shortly after the event. None of these players have played a single official snap in the National Football League and the draft’s own history is filled with sure things that were never certain and can’t miss prospects who never hit.

But it’s hard not to feel great about the Kansas CIty Chiefs rookie class from the 2022 NFL Draft. There was a point when the single best player picked up by Veach was a run-stuffing, two-down defensive lineman (2018, Derrick Nnadi). These days, however, he’s improved to such a degree that he, along with his team of front office executives and scouts, are able to put together entire classes of impact players.

Last year featured three impressive young starters and depth players. This year could yield even more knowing there are 10 picks coming into training camp. On this episode, we discuss plenty of topics including Trent McDuffie, George Karlaftis, and even Justyn Ross. You can check out the latest episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast below for the week of activity that Veach just led and what we think of it all.
