The Kansas City Chiefs have surprisingly held onto their league-leading haul of draft picks in the 2022 NFL Draft for weeks now—ever since the team acquired five of them over the next two draft classes in the Tyreek Hill trade with the Miami Dolphins.

When the Chiefs acquired so much draft capital, the assumption was that the Chiefs would then use some of those newly acquired picks (or some of their own) to turn around and grab ahold of other veterans who could help at positions of need. From wide receiver to defensive end and cornerback to offensive line, the Chiefs have a number of places where further help was needed this offseason, and they’ve been tied to a number of players who have come up as available on the trade block.

Let’s look at the trade targets still sitting there for the Kansas City Chiefs to consider as the draft quickly approaches.

So far, however, general manager Brett Veach has showcased some unexpected restraint in the face of such rumors. Despite the Chiefs being tied to pretty much every non-quarterback coming up as a surprise free agent or trade bait, the Chiefs have made a steady stream of low-level signings in order to strengthen various positions without going over the top financially for a single player or dealing away any of their hard-won draft assets.

While some players have found new homes, there are a few names that have been linked with the Chiefs that remain available as the draft creeps closer. Will the arrival of the draft force a move? Will the Chiefs trade away picks or usher in a youth movement?

Here are the players still on the trade block and seemingly available for the Chiefs (or someone else) as the first round draws near.
