16. New Orleans Saints: WR Jameson Williams, Alabama

The Saints are now on the clock, and Williams has slipped this far, and it’s too good to be true for New Orleans. The Saints now get a receiver opposite Michael Thomas and give Jameis Winston another weapon to depend on. Williams was a dominant wideout during his one season at Alabama, catching 79 passes for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns. The former Ohio State and Alabama wide receiver is arguably the best wideout in this draft class, but a torn ACL has caused some hesitancy among teams. Williams could miss a portion of the season, but that should not be a reason for New Orleans to allow Williams to slip past them.

17. Los Angeles Chargers: OT Trevor Penning, Northern Iowa

The Chargers have had a busy offseason, and have addressed a number of positional needs. One void that still needs to be filled is the right side of the offensive line. After drafting Rashawn Slater in last year’s draft, Los Angeles selects Penning to play at right tackle. Penning is a dominant figure at 6’7” and 329 pounds. The Northern Iowa product is a violent blocker and viciously finishes when possible. His physicality and ‘fire’ are something that he will have to manage and make sure that he does not go overboard. Penning likes to throw defenders around, but that can cause injuries to his quarterback and players around him. Nonetheless, Justin Herbert is given another piece of protection that will allow him to cleanly survey the field.

18. Philadelphia Eagles: LB Devin Lloyd, Utah

Another great pick for the Eagles as Lloyd has fallen into Philadelphia’s lap. Lloyd is a smart player that understands the schematics of the game and can excel in pass coverage and rushing the passer. Last season, Lloyd compiled seven sacks and four interceptions. He has shown the ability to line up against tight ends in the passing game. An absolute steal for Philadelphia, solidifying an area of the defense that will help them in the long run. Giving Hurts a supportive defense is something that will keep the Eagles’ offense patient, allowing them to run the ball efficiently.
