31. Cincinnati Bengals: OT Tyler Smith, Tulsa

Joe Burrow was sacked a whopping 70 times last season, including seven times in the Super Bowl. The Bengals have addressed the offensive line issues by signing La’el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras in free agency. The Bengals continue to construct an offensive line that can keep Burrow upright with the selection of the Tulsa product. Smith has an incredibly high ceiling and has shown he can be a player at the next level. He was a tone-setter for the offensive line during his three years at Tulsa. Smith can play on either side of the line, and will probably be a long-term guard in the NFL. Jackson Carman and Jonah Williams are not viable options for the future of this unit, so I expect at some point, Smith will take over the left guard position.

32. Seattle Seahawks (via trade with Detroit): QB Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati

Seattle trades back into the first round to grab their quarterback of the future. Detroit owns the 34th overall pick, so trading back makes all the sense in the world for the Lions.

Ridder is the only quarterback the Seahawks have met during the pre-draft process, Drew Lock and Geno Smith are the active signal callers on the roster. Ridder will compete, and probably win the starting job. I am not a fan of any of these quarterbacks, despite Willis, but Ridder is capable of developing into a solid starter. During his senior season, Ridder threw for 3,384 yards and 30 touchdowns, while leading the Bearcats to the College Football Playoff. Ridder is deceptively athletic and can succeed from the pocket. He does not have a high ceiling, but he can be solid at the next level.
