Mario Addison

If the idea of signing a pass rusher well into his thirties doesn’t sound all that exciting, we understand, but Mario Addison has been pushing back against the idea of aging out for quite some time.

Addison never had more than three sacks in a single season until his fourth season in the league at the age of 27. He never had more than 6.5 until he was 29. Yet here’s the thing: Addison has 51 sacks since 2016 and put up 7 more last season in only 45 percent of all defensive snaps as part of a solid rotation with the Buffalo Bills.

Addison is now a free agent again at the age of 35, but he should have no problem finding a new team if the Bills don’t want him back. Even for his intelligence and proven production, he’s a solid get and would be an excellent mentor figure and reliable player for a Chiefs team likely to have multiple rookies by the time camp rolls around.
