Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

Projected Range:

#3 overall- #17 overall

Overview:

Jordan Davis is the player that has garnered some of the most attention during the early part of this draft season. Davis had a historic NFL combine as he weighed in at 341 pounds and ran his 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds. This is on par with some NFL tight ends.

As he continues to shine with his athletic testing, NFL scouts will likely continue to be enthralled with him as a player.

While it would not necessarily be the move that would put the Chiefs over-the-top defensively, the interior defensive line would be the best in the NFL. Davis and Chris Jones would make for a nearly unblockable duo. With some added help at EDGE, the Chiefs could quickly be catapulted into discussions about the best defensive lines in the NFL.

Again, this would take a lot of compensation. It would bring about a major change to the Kansas City defense that is looking for new stars to fit the Steve Spagnuolo mold. If the Chiefs were to take a big swing, this may be the one.

Compensation:

Once again, this trade would take a hefty sum. Depending on whether or not Davis drops out of the top ten, (which at this point, seems unlikely) the Chiefs could try to move up with just pick 29, pick 50, and a 6th. If he is in the top ten, they would have to give up both firsts and a sixth.
