Defensive Tackle

The cupboard isn’t bare at defensive tackle for the Chiefs. They still have Chris Jones, Tershawn Wharton, and Khalen Saunders, and as I’m writing this work has broken that KC plans to re-sign Derrick Nnadi. While it may not be a position that the Chiefs need to spend huge money on, there is a slew of veteran starting defensive tackles available and they have Jarran Reed’s snaps that they still need to replace. While I wouldn’t pay big money for any of the following players if the market leads to bargains any of these guys could be a quality addition to KC’s defensive front. I’m not even going to break these guys into tiers, they would all be valuable proven players.

  • Akiem Hicks
  • Calais Campbell
  • Eddie Goldman
  • Sheldon Richardson
  • Larry Ogunjobi
  • Star Lotulelei
  • Linval Joseph
  • Ndamukong Suh
  • Jonathan Hankins
  • Brandon Williams

That’s a lot of quality options to choose from. If KC can land one of those guys to play next to Chris Jones as part of their defensive tackle rotation I would be incredibly happy. Now let’s move on to the other spot where KC really needs a starting-caliber player, cornerback.
