Baltimore Ravens: Brandon Williams

The oldest player on this list, Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams might be a longshot.

Williams is a near-native of Kansas City, being born in Kirkwood, Mo. The 33-year-old veteran has spent his entire season with the Baltimore Ravens. The Missouri Southern alum became the school’s highest-drafted player, as the Ravens’ third-round selection in the 2013 draft.

Williams has been a fixture of the run-stuffing Baltimore defense for years. The Ravens were the league’s fourth-best rush defense, according to Football Outsiders. Williams has primarily been a two-down tackle his career, seeing action in 53% of Baltimore’s defensive snaps. He logged 35 combined tackles with four tackles of loss and one quarterback hit. He has not recorded a missed tackle since 2019, which would be a welcome addition to the Chiefs’ defense.

Williams has never been a pass-rushing threat, with only 6.5 sacks his entire career. But, for teams who need a veteran presence on the line, Williams is the guy. He would give the Chiefs an immediate boost against the run, while still giving younger defenders pass-rushing reps.

The hardest part about his situation is his ties to Baltimore. It is his only team, and luring him away could be hard. But, if Baltimore cannot resign him, Veach should give Williams’ agent a call.
