7.240: Kolby Harvell-Peel, S, Oklahoma State

Kolby Harvell-Peel is one of the more unknown players in this draft, but honestly, I can’t quite figure out why. I presume it has to do with the fact that he doesn’t start for Oklahoma State and just plays in certain coverages, but I’m not sure to be honest. But all we need to know is that he is a very good player.

In his time with Oklahoma State this past year, Peel played in 14 games and had 70 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, 4.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and three passes defended. And those stats pretty much do his game justice.

He’s an athletic player who, believe it or not, reminds me of Juan Thornhill. He is a pretty athletic safety who can also line up at the cornerback position. When it comes to the fundamentals of tackling and playing in coverage, he is pretty good. That’s what gives me hope that he could become something at the next level. Or at the bare minimum, he gives the Chiefs another safety and acts as a depth piece.
