2.62: Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE, South Carolina

Kingsley Enagbare has been one of my personal favorite players in this entire draft class. I have a love for his skill and the upside in his game.

The reason behind this selection is that the Chiefs need to address the edge position. With Frank Clark, Mike Danna, and Joshua Kaindoh likely to handle the reins as of right now, that is simply not going to cut it. They need to add depth and star power. Because between the three names I wrote above, that is not going to get the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. Heck, it may not even be enough to get them in the playoffs given how the other teams in the AFC West have improved.

The Chiefs need to add a pass rusher that can produce year in and year out, and that is Enagbare. He is an athletic edge rusher, but it’s more how he plays his game that draws me in. He has the speed to beat tackles off the edge, has the strength to make tackles against some of the bigger running backs, and has great fundamentals.

Enagbare didn’t have a great Combine, that much I’ll admit. However, this would be a terrific pick should he be there at the bottom of the second round.
