KC Chiefs address biggest needs in 7-round post-Combine mock draft
By KC Proctor
6.189 Danny Gray, WR, SMU
Danny Gray could very likely be the biggest steal of day three at the 2022 NFL draft. This kid is a sight to see, and if you didn’t catch an SMU game this fall, do yourself a favor and type his name in on YouTube. He is a junior college kid who came out of his sophomore year at Blinn College — where he had 54 catches for 877 yards and 8 touchdowns — as a top JuCo product in the country. In his senior year at SMU, he led the team with 803 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns in just 10 games.
Gray is explosive in space, and seamlessly creates separation. He is able to maintain speed through his routes, but is down to get physical with a corner if it is needed. His catch-and-run abilities are among some of the best that you’ll find on 2021 film throughout the NCAA, and to top it off, he has excellent kick and punt return skills.
If a couple things can go right, and the Chiefs can secure a legit WR2 either in free agency or early in the draft, Danny Gray would be an awesomely fun Swiss army knife to add to the arsenal.
