KC Chiefs address biggest needs in 7-round post-Combine mock draft

3.102 JoJo Domann (LB); Nebraska
Anthony Hitchens has already been released this offseason and Ben Niemann is slated for free agency. That leaves a hole at linebacker even with Nick Bolton and Willie Gay Jr. returning in 2022.
JoJo Domann played outside linebacker at Nebraska, but has a great collection of film that displays his versatility. The 2021 second-team All-American had 45 solo tackles, 9 for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions in his senior year. His season was cut short to ten games after a finger injury requiring surgery put him on the shelf.
In unpacking his tape, the most outstanding strength for Domann, aside from his toughness, is his adaptability and athleticism in coverage. With the developing youth at the linebacker position in Kansas City today, the idea of adding another rookie to the mix can be perceived in one of two ways. One could either take the perspective of longevity and growth of a culture, or the same individual could see the lack of a true veteran presence as a drawback.
Whether or not JoJo Domann will emerge as an NFL starter is to be seen, but if the linebacker priority slides to the third round for the Chiefs, he would be an excellent option to bring aboard.
