The annual Pro Bowl gives time for some of the game’s best players to come together which means that the National Football League’s biggest stars get to have interesting conversations as they share their experiences with one another.

While none of us are excited that the Kansas City Chiefs’ best players were in the Pro Bowl instead of the Super Bowl this season, we do approve of any conversation in which Patrick Mahomes is asked to describe Andy Reid.

NFL Films caught Mahomes on the sideline for the AFC with Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby and the two began to talk about various head coaches around the league. Crosby in particular asked Mahomes what Reid is like and we just have to laugh out loud at Mahomes’ answer.

“He’s super cool,” Mahomes said. “I mean, yeah. It’s almost like your uncle, you know what I mean? He’s like cool, cool, cool, but you can’t, like, don’t disappoint him ’cause he’ll get mad at you. But he’s gonna give you your freedom to do what you wanna do.”

Andy Reid as a super cool uncle is pretty much what we assumed that relationship would resemble.

It was also interesting to hear Mahomes offer up praise of Mike Vrabel of all coaches and it’s clear he has plenty of respect for the leader of the Tennessee Titans. That’s primarily because of his disciplined approach while also having perspective as a former player. You can hear the discussion in the video above.
