Patrick Mahomes

Reason No. 1 may not be anything you guys didn’t already know, but the Chiefs have the edge at quarterback. I feel like you can’t make a “reasons to be optimistic” list without mentioning Mahomes after what we just saw from him against Buffalo.

The Mahomes factor means more than it ever has and I cannot stress enough how important is that the Chiefs have him on their side. He’s built for these moments. We saw just how unstoppable he was when he was locked in and knew that the Chiefs needed an A+ game from him to win.

Mahomes’ playoff numbers are just uncanny. So far this postseason he’s thrown for 782 yards, 8 TD’s, and no interceptions and has also reminded everyone he can be dangerous on the ground with 98 rushing yards and an additional TD. Not to mention he pulled off one of the most unlikely comebacks in NFL playoff history in just 13 seconds. He’s just on fire. How could you bet against him?

Joe burrow is a fantastic young quarterback, but he’s not on the level of Patrick Mahomes and there’s really no reason Mahomes shouldn’t take care of business in a game where these kinds of situations tend to be dictated by the team with the better quarterback.
